Metal Gear Online players

To go along with my previous post, i’ve been playing far too much MGO. Not as much as some people ( 55 hours already? Have they even completed the game yet, i’m on my 4th playthrough before i remembered how fun the online is) but enough to get back into the swing of things. Like most games i play online, i don’t really do the whole clan thing. I play as a team with the people i play with, unless they’re idiots all standing my explosive drum cans just asking to all be killed in one go, and usually that’s about as far as it goes. I say good game, hi, etc when people talk, and even use my mic, even though no-one else seems to. But as i’ve played more and more, i feel this might be the game i finally want to play properly online. By this i mean actually play in a team. Now you can look at my stats, play with me, etc, and make any assumptions you want as to my skills ( i’m not saying i’m great, there are thousands of people in this game and all the othes that i play that are better than me, just not Wii tennis) but i would like to join a clan that actually play together as a team. I’m free every night from 6pm onwards ( uk gmt) and play every day when i’m not working or playing the main game.

So anyone who is looking for a new member, and not a clan that has hundreds of players preferably as i fail to see the use i might have in a team of that size, look me up and leave a message here or in MGO.

And after a long, long break…nothing

Well it’s been quite a while since i added anything new to this place. I either blame the fact i have had nothing ‘great’ to write about or that i’ve had too many things and it’s kept me far too occupied. I think the last time i wrote something ( yes i can’t be bothered to check the date) it was on bad anime adaptations. Before that it was getting my new box of Gurren Langann figures. So in the order i think is right, here’s what has happend between then and now.

1. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Model

Ages ago i got my Gurren model to make, complete with my artbook of the series. The model itself was simple and good looking, although i do need to get some Gundam markers to finish it as it is looking a little dull not having the mouth and logos on the arms coloured in. The artbook is great, very good for referencing ( much like my Jump Superstars one).

2. Playstation 3

Hmmm. This wasn’t meant to happen. It’s not like i never wanted one, what with owning every other console ( but a 360, and that day will never happen) but i didn’t plan on just randomly buying one out of the blue. I have this habit of going online when i have money, seeing things and going “ok, that would be cool, but i don’t really need it”, then 2 or so days later i get the item i’m looking at. This is what happend with my PS3. I feel good though as it was a very, very good purchase. I got Eye of Judgement free with it ( which i’m actually suprised by how good it is, and so are my friends who pretty much hate cards or anything like that) and since then i’ve got many other games ( again down to going online and getting click-happy). Since buying it i haven’t touched my Wii, mainly because i got my mum Wii Fit ( no she’s not fat, she’s interested in working out at home rather then spending £200 a yaer on a gym) and the fact Smash Bros. Brawl is still yet to be out.

3. Working

To afford all these lovely things, i’ve been working 2 jobs up until recently. One at a petrol station ( which is great at the moment because of the fuel shortages) and another at the pub near my house. I’ve had to leave the one at the pub due to increased hours at the petrol station, but both are pretty good considering i dislike working, but then who doesn’t? Both are jobs to save money and to pass the time until i get a ‘proper’ job with my degree. So if you need a photographer/graphic designer/drummer your reading the blog of one.

4. Bands and gigs and monster trucks

Went to see Horse the Band a few weeks ago. Very funny, very good, just what i hoped for. Same with The Fall of Troy, good friends of mine and an awesome band, bar the crushing of my right hand leading to a broken finger. Also saw Monster Jam in Cardiff. Nothing beats watching cars get destroyed while drinking beer, eating foot long hot dogs and betting on the trucks. Was quite fun i’d say.

5. Metal Gear Solid 4 and projector

Perhaps this is now the new main reason i don’t play my Wii or even do anything else. After constantly playing the Metal Gear Online Beta, i finally managed to get my projector. Now all my games play at 76″ HD (720/1080 depending on the game) along with all my media being streamed to my PS3 thanks to a few programs. I kid you not, this and the PS3 are pretty much my best purchases ever. I mean come, £400 for a projector that even at 30″ looks better then pretty much most tv’s, and i only have to spend £80 on a new bulb every year or so and that’s me sorted forever. As for MGS4, well it’s the best. I never thought i would find a game that would beat FFVII or Sonic Adventure but this is AWESOME. The limited edition box set is nice, although for the price i thought the box itself could’ve been in a tin or something rather than plastic, but it’s the game that counts.

That’s about it, and if you’re still reading well done, cuz to me that looks like a whole load of useless text about nothing in particular. I accidentally bought Time Crisis 4 last night for £42 ( damm money and eBay), then remembered i’m playing on a projector and that the PS3 is on the other side of the room, about 4m away or so, so had to buy some USB extension cables. And i’m still counting the days until SSBB comes out. there’s a contest going on in Gamestation but the closest one to me is in Newport and i think they’ve probably filled all the spots by now, so i’m just gonna complete MGS4 a few more times and play MGO some more.

P.S.

and i got a new phone. hurray.
